Midlands Home School Band
Music to the Glory of God
The goals of MHSB are to provide
  • an environment where students receive professional instruction that will lay a foundation for musical pursuits at the college level
  • ensemble experience and performance opportunities
  • instrumental training and ensemble experience for beginners
  • opportunities to participate in Region and All State events
The benefits from musical training are many. Research confirms that students with musical education excel academically. But the greatest benefit is to the believer who will use music now and throughout eternity in praise and worship.

The Home Educators Resource Directory was developed by Mindy Lively a Homeschooling Mother.
While searching for materials for her family she found that there was a need for an easy to access directory.
That is exactly what the HERD has brought the homeschool community!

HERD is chock full of valuable information.
It’s so easy to navigate and find the information and materials you need.

Curriculum and resources all have brief descriptions, with direct websites and emails links for help with more specific questions.

Homeschool Support Groups all have a description with geographic area, type of support group, benefits, requirements and costs.
This makes it easy to research and find the group that fits your family’s needs.

The HERD News is a FREE monthly e-newsletter with great articles to help the novice or experienced home educator.

Some of the newsletter topics are:
Homeschooling large families
Basic Homeschooling questions
Starting your support group or coop
Math
Science
Special needs
Grammar
Writing
Foreign Languages
Physical Education
Reading
High school
College
And More!

Every month the Newsletter focuses on two Featured Resources.
These resources supply unique and valuable materials for the home educator.

Subscribe me to the newsletter!
Email addresses are kept exclusive for the directory.

A Special Offer page features freebies, discounts and coupons and special contests.

The directory is constantly changing and adding new resources, support groups and new features.

Dear friends,

I have established an ever-growing email subscription list of various ones receiving free Bible-based word puzzles (word search and crossword puzzles). I would like to make these available as well to the members of SCHEA. They are an excellent educational source as well as an enjoyable Bible-learning activity.

Would you make known to them the fact that I offer this resource free of charge? I regard this solely as a ministry therefore I do not expect any remuneration at any time. Please view samples on my website at www.biblebased.customizedpuzzles.com .

During the past year and half that I have been sending them out they have been a great encouragement to others.

New in August 2005, the Homeschool Buyers Co-op works on behalf of homeschooling families throughout the country by negotiating discounts for educational products from leading suppliers of products such as curriculum, media, science kits, books, educational games and toys and more! Membership is free to all homeschoolers.

The key to success of the Co-op is broad support within the homeschooling community. By joining and telling your homeschooling friends about this important resource you can help the Co-op grow. The more members we have, the greater the discounts we will be able to negotiate on your behalf!

The Homeschool Buyers Co-op is endorsed by Diane Flynn Keith, Editor-In-Chief, Homefires, and author of "Carschooling" She writes, "In 1991, when I began homeschooling my sons, many textbook suppliers wouldn't sell books to individual homeschoolers. Now, just 14 years later, we have co-op purchasing power! What a triumph and what a great help to families who educate their children at home! Thank you for developing this money-saving opportunity for homeschoolers. It's about time!" Join the Co-op today - Homeschool Buyers Co-op - and be sure to tell a friend!
